Mathusalem is complementary to Time Machine as it backups automatically one or more directories of your choice to other external disks or remote servers in order to ensure extra safety of your most important data. It is an alternative to the Backup application that comes with .Mac / MobileMe if you need more control or features:

• It supports a wide range of destinations: local drives, iDisk, WebDAV, AFP, FTP, SFTP or Amazon S3
• It can generate archives in various formats: sparse or compressed .dmg and CPIO or ZIP archives
• It generates fully self-contained backups i.e. data and settings which makes it possible to access them from any machine or even relocate them
• It can restart a download or upload that failed or was cancelled by the user without having to restart the entire backup
• It runs in low-priority mode on your machine so it doesn't hang your CPU or hard drive
• It runs only when necessary (it is managed by launchd like other system services)
• It is fully open-source which means no proprietary file formats (backup data files are plain XML)
• It stores passwords in the Keychain
• It reports detailed information on the backup progress
• The command line tool version can be integrated in existing tool chains or used with launchd

Unlike the Mac version of 1Password, the iPhone/iPod touch application will be constantly closed and opened throughout the day.
Not only is the device turned off frequently (i.e. placed in your pocket) but only one application can run at a time so 1Password will be constantly closed and opened as you multitask.


Because of this unique usage pattern we did not want to require a Master Password every time 1Password was opened. Since you will often be accessing “less important” login details like Forum logins, Digg accounts, etc, we use an Access Code to open 1Password.
The Access Code is a 4 digit number that allows you to quickly open 1Password without entering your full Master Password. Since the Access Code is short and only contains digits it can be entered very quickly, but as a consequence items protected only by the Access Code are not as secure.

For items that require a higher level of security, such as bank accounts, a real password is needed to keep your data safe and secure.
These types of accounts are used less frequently so requiring a full password to be typed when using them will not be a burden.

You can configure each item in 1Password to be protected by your Master Password. In 1Password for Mac this is called a Security Level.


Users of 1Password for Mac will want to keep their iPhone/iPod touch data in sync with their Mac.
To start the sync process, tap on the Sync icon to bring up the Sync screen.

The local network will be searched for any running 1Password applications. If none are found you will be presented with the Search screen as 1Password continues to search:

To sync with your Mac, start 1Password on your Mac and then open the iPhone Sync window by selecting Sync > Sync to iPhone… menu item:

Program a virtual robot with a flowchart : first you draw the flowchart, then you run the program and watch the robot executing your program. With RobotProg you can learn programming bases by means of gradual levels. At the last level, you may program several robots playing games on the same ground.

Norrkross Tint is used to adjust the color balance of images. Color adjustments with original color near the pixel color are applied more, whereas color adjustments that differ in original color from the pixel color have little or no effect.
This allows the changing of different colors separately (eg. make the gray greener but leave the white and black as they are).






Usage

Click in the image to add new color adjustments. You can add both colors that you want to change and colors you want to keep constant.
Click the color in the adjusted column in the color adjustment drawer to set it to set the target color you want.

Pixels with color close to the original color will be adjusted to the target color. Letting the target color be the same as the original color for a color adjustment makes colors like the original color remain unchanged.
Tint is free to download and use and runs on Mac OS X.

What is iPhoto Buddy?

iPhoto Buddy is a Mac OS X application (Universal) that allows you to easily create, manage, and switch between multiple iPhoto Libraries. The advantages of splitting your One Huge Photo Library into multiple, smaller ones include improved iPhoto performance, increased flexibility in organizing your digital photo collection, and a consistency with most other Mac applications that allow their respective data to be stored in as many documents (in this case, "Libraries") as you like.
iPhoto Buddy uses a simple, streamlined interface that was inspired by iPhoto itself. Anyone that has used iPhoto will immediately feel right at home using iPhoto Buddy. It truly is a companion application--a real buddy!

iPhoto Buddy will never alter/move/delete your Libraries or your photo files. It's perfectly safe!


What can you do with it?

With iPhoto Buddy, you can easily manage an entire list of iPhoto Libraries, enabling you to quickly and easily open the Library of your choice for viewing/editing/printing in iPhoto.
You can easily switch between your multiple Libraries, and iPhoto Buddy will automatically quit iPhoto and instantly re-launch it with the newly selected Library (iPhoto can only have one Library open at a time).
There is no limit to the number of Libraries, and they can be located in various locations--even on external hard disk drives, network volumes, or encrypted disk images. Each Library can be assigned its own name that differs from its folder name in the Finder; each Library can be assigned a thumbnail image that can help to remind you of its contents; and each Library can be password protected for privacy/security.
iPhoto Buddy also displays various details about your Libraries without launching iPhoto. Information like each Library's size and image count as well as a complete listing of the Albums, Smart Albums, Folders, Books, Slide Shows, etc. contained therein. And in keeping with the enhanced integration of the iApps that Apple introduced with the original iLife package, iPhoto Buddy also allows you to open iMovie, iDVD, and iWeb using any of your iPhoto Libraries for importing photos into your Movies, DVDs and websites.

In fact with iPhoto Buddy, any application that contains a Media Browser for accessing your iPhoto Library, can used with ANY of your iPhoto Libraries.



What are the system requirements?

iPhoto Buddy requires a Macintosh computer running OS X 10.3.9 or later, and iPhoto 2 or later. iPhoto Buddy is fully compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, as well as 10.4 Tiger and 10.3 Panther. iPhoto Buddy is fully compatible with iLife '04, iLife '05, iLife '06, and iLife '08.

How does it work?

If you're like me, you prefer to understand exactly what a new program is doing with the precious information on your computer. You can relax. iPhoto Buddy is quite innocuous. Here's what it does:

• Creates a folder in your Preferences folder (/users/USERNAME/Library/Preferences/iPhoto Buddy) in which it stores special alias files and application preferences. Do not move or modify this folder or its contents unless you stop using iPhoto Buddy and remove it from your computer.
• Modifies iPhoto's plist file (/users/USERNAME/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iPhoto.plist) each time you use iPhoto Buddy to launch iPhoto. The modification is a simple one in which iPhoto Buddy inserts the path to the selected Library's folder into the proper location in iPhoto's plist file. When iPhoto is launched, it reads the plist file and uses the Library specified therein.
• Modifies the plist file (/users/USERNAME/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iApps.plist) used by iMovie/iDVD/iWeb (and Pages, and Keynote, and Screen Saver, too!) to determine the location of your iPhoto Library each time you use iPhoto Buddy to launch iMovie, iDVD, or iWeb.

O2 UK have let slip the pricing for the Pay & Go iPhone.

On their website for a couple of hours only, were the price of the new 3G Pay & Go iPhone along with information on data charges.

The starting price will be £299 for the 8GB and £359 for the 16GB model.

The purchase cost will include 6 months free Data usage and free access to their WiFi providers The Cloud and BT Openzone.

After the initial 6 months you are able to continue using data at a cost of £10 per month. Alternatively anyone not tacking out the offer of £10 per month unlimited data could be facing a charge of £3 to £6 per Megabyte.

Prices for Talk & Text Pay & Go tariffs are quite reasonable...






Unless Apple cut the price of the iPod Touch I would say it’s definitely worth paying an extra £50 to upgrade to a iphone and benefit from the free 6 months of data.

Use Norrkross MorphX for calculating images or movies where one image transforms into another.
Simply drag 2 images to the document window, drag a few lines to indicate similar areas and Norrkross MorphX calculates images so that it looks like the first image magically is transformed into the other.
You can save the morph as still image snapshot or as a full animated QuickTime movie.

Flight Gear is a FREE flight simulator compatible with virtually any operating system including Windows, Mac and Linux - with several unique features and options that may be quite different than you're used to in a simulation application.

You'll fine a wide variety of aircraft from the Wright Brothers' first airplane to modern military jets and navigate using any major brand joystick or your mouse as a yoke. In addition, you can download the whole planet or squares off the website.

You can program your own graphics, create airports, new aircraft and reprogram flight controls and response to suit your preferences. The graphics limited only by your imagination.

The FlightGear website abounds with links and tutorials. Easy to use interface provides your options onscreen so you don't have to search through menus. As the pilot, you can control the weather and integrate real world weather conditions. You can even shadow yourself in a chase plane that banks with your own, dodge AI traffic or enjoy multiplayer action over your network.

Graphics are very close in quality to its competitor's and the performance is superb, faithful to the developers' stated intention that eye candy should not compromise performance. Therefore FlightGear graphics aren't quite as glitzy as the competition but the performance gain more than makes up for it; flights are smooth with no hesitation and there's even a landable aircraft carrier off the California coast.

There are a few minor weaknesses such as ground handling and less than perfect audio feedback. The simulator doesn't have collision detection so you might land just fine on water without pontoons!

All in all, FlightGear packs in a lot of extras you'll not find in other simulators and since development is ongoing there's usually something new to enhance this one-of-a-kind experience.

Pascal Naidon and Patrick Corrieri are the developers of Pencil an animation/drawing software for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux. It lets you create traditional hand-drawn animation (cartoon) using both bitmap and vector graphics. Pencil is free and open source.


Pencil is not intended to mimick web-oriented vector-based animation software such as flash. Its main purpose is to make traditional animation. Neither does it try to rival commercial software targetting the professional animation sector. Pencil is intended to be a simple program enabling anyone to make 2D animation.

Delicious Library 2 is my latest Mac purchace.

First thing first... What is Delicious Library 2?

Well it’s a application that lets you catalogue all your book’s, dvd’s, gadget’s etc.
In fact you can use Delicious Library 2 to keep tabs on anything you want, and if it has a barcode it’s even easier as Delicious Library 2 will use your iSight camera to scan the barcode and search the web for all the information about you dvd....

You can create smart shelves, to auto add stuff by selecting certain criteria, much like smart folders in Mail.

I would recommend you download the trial version and give it a go, you are however limited to 25 items in your library until you purchase the full version at $40.

It’s just so easy to enter all your stuff into.
After a few minutes trying to figure out the best way to hold my DVD’s so
Delicious Library 2 could use my iSight camera to scan the barcodes on my DVD case I was flying through my whole collection, and then onto my book’s........
